Holidays 2017

Since Christmas Holidays for 2018 is just around the corner, I think it’s the right time to post the happenings during my 2017 Christmas vacation (hahaha I know, super duper late!) I went home for my 11-day Christmas break last 22 December 2017. I went straight to the airport right after the Christmas party in our office (as in pagka kuha ko nung raffle at gift sa monito monita, sabay eat and run ๐Ÿ˜…)

So far, our company’s 2017 Christmas party was the best that we had (only the 3rd Christmas celebration as they do not celebrate it before, only after I joined – i think?). Aside from the usual raffle where you’ll be able to get from $10 up to $100, we had the secret santa with $10 and above budget for the gift. I was able to get $80 for the raffle and a starbucks tumbler and $20 voucher for the secret santa. The total amount I got was far from the $10 budget, so I’m a bit luckier this time ๐Ÿ˜œ

23 December 2017

Hours after I landed in Manila, I found myself busy in assisting the on-going construction of my sister’s house. We visited the site, did some quick inspection and canvassed for the materials and furnitures to use. It was a fun bonding for us – times like this was what I missed the most. Being away for a long time makes you appreciate even the simplest things that you can do together with your family. (drama mo oy!) We prepared a simple gift for the workers as well. Mabait na boss ang ate ko eh

24-25 December 2017

We had a normal and simple celebration at home. We had a complete attendance this yearย (me and my sister spent 2016 Christmas holidays in SG and I promised myself that it would be the last time). It sure was merrier this time as we had a new addition to the family, my new nephew baby Lyoย ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป

26 December 2017

We had the Olaco-Maranan Reunion which was held at my niece’s place in Cavite. Unlike the 2015 reunion, there were less attendees this time but on the Olacos’ side, syempre halos lahat presentย (though my niece Reese was absent). My niece, ate Nerissa, arranged a caterer for the food and we’re the ones in-charge for the drinks. As usual, bumaha ng alak. Malibu, brandy, whiskey and beer, halo halo na. And of course, filipino celebration is not complete without karaoke ๐ŸŽค

Some of my relatives that were present are not in the picture – ย mostly the kids – nieces, nephews and grandchildren (yes I already have plenty of grandchildren) were on the other house – they had their own world ๐Ÿ™ƒIMG_7210IMG_7211

We stayed up until 10 in the evening, some of my siblings (Kuya Jon and Kilen) got drunk! At naubos namin yung mga alak, akalain mo yun? bukod sa mga binili sa duty free na alak meron pang 12 bottles ng fundador light, naubos pa din?! ๐Ÿค”

Good thing I’m the driver that day, I had an excuse not to be wasted ๐Ÿ˜œ

28 December 2017

I was able to go to the gym as early as 8am in the morning to avoid the crowd (haha introvert kuno). I had an appointment with the dentistas well, and was able to do a follow up check up (did the 1st check up last June). I was devastated upon seeing the result. (will write separate post)

29 December 2017ย

CE-Naniban yearly get together. We planned on going to Mon’s place as early as possible for our reunion but I was feeling sick when I woke up.ย I don’t know if it’s because I went to the gym the previous day and got body aches, or nakisama din yung katawan ko sa result nung check-up ko. I was having chills that day but I knew I would regret it if I don’t come. So ayun, pinilit kong umattend. And that was the best decision I made that day. Sandali akong nakalimot sa aking iniinda. Drama?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

It was November 2016 when they last held a reunion that I wasn’t able to attend because I got stuck in Singapore ๐Ÿ˜…ย And after 2 years (December 2015 when I last saw them). finally. โค๏ธ

Ang daming nagbago. Some of them already have families of their own (Mon’s and Jhen’s kids were present as well) But one thing didn’t change;

We really had a great time! Sa sugal pa lang, super hagalpak na kami kakatawa! Mga itsura lang namin ang nagbago, but we’re still the same –ย isip bata na puro kalokohan – that we were 8 years ago. Ang saya lang habang binabalikan namin ang mga kalokohan namin during college days. Priceless โค๏ธ

30 December 2017 – 1 January 2018

I spent the last remaining days of 2017 with my family and just stayed at home. Did some last minute grocery shopping before welcoming the new year 2018. I don’t have pictures though โœŒ๐Ÿป. So ayun. Happy New Year 2018 guys!(10 months late. haha)
